Households in West Eugene have suffered for decades from pollution caused by companies like JH Baxter. The City of Eugene is working on public health standards for new industrial development that would limit the most dangerous land uses for human health near sensitive uses like homes, schools, and daycare centers.
Beyond Toxics encourages residents to support strong standards by:
Taking this City of Eugene survey designed to gather community perspectives and identify possible changes to Eugene’s land use regulations; and
Attending a community meeting on Thursday, May 15, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Lion of Judah Community Center (2600 Wood Ave) to hear about the topic from city staff and community organizations.
