WAND Presents "The Accidental Activist: Lessons from Lobbying - Learning As You Go"

  • First United Methodist Church, Room 19 1376 Olive St. Eugene, OR 97401 (map)

For WAND’s February program, the group will welcome Bonnie Olin, who will discuss her progression from recreationist to conservationist to citizen lobbyist in an effort to preserve the natural beauty of a unique area of Oregon and to help narrow the gap between urban and rural interests and cultivate common ground.

Bonnie is the author of The Owyhee River Journals and was the recipient of ONDA’s (Oregon Natural Desert Association) Volunteer of the Year Award 2017. She offers multimedia presentations to groups and organizations throughout the state about the importance of the Owyhee Canyonlands to the people of Oregon and in her own words has "developed a love and appreciation for the land, the river, the history, and the environmental uncertainties posed by climate change, human impact, and a naturally changing landscape."
