Understand Your Fair Housing Rights

The City of Eugene invites you to a free presentation on housing rights that will help attendees understand their fair housing protections, rights, and resources. The presentation will be made by the Fair Housing Council of Oregon. In addition, information will be presented about the City of Eugene’s Rental Housing Code and services offered by Lane County Legal Aid/Oregon Law Center.

Who is protected?
It is illegal for a landlord, property manager, real estate agent, lender, or home insurer to treat people differently based on:

  • Race or Color

  • Religion

  • Gender or Gender Identity

  • Marital or Domestic Partnership Status

  • Familial Status (children under 18)

  • Physical or Mental Disability

  • National Origin or Ethnicity*

  • Source of Income

  • Sexual Orientation

  • Age*
