March for Black Trans Lives

  • Federal Courthouse 405 E. 8th Ave. Eugene, OR 97401 (map)

Eugene Pride is joining Black Unity for a March for Black Trans Lives today.

Although we are not able to gather for our annual Pride in the Park festival, Pride is still alive and well. We are happy to take Pride back to its roots and honor the people who built the movement, Trans People of Color. Trans BIPOC face serious risk of economic hardship, discrimination, and violence in this country and around the world. It is our duty and privilege to stand with them and continue to demand that their lives be valued and protected.

The March will feature speeches from Senator James Manning, Councilor Greg Evans, Libra Forde, Transponder, HIV Alliance, Planned Parenthood, and more. Performances include: Xcape Dance Company, Work Dance Co., Kingsley Strange, Karress Ann Slaughter, and more. Speeches begin at noon at the Federal Courthouse and the March will end at Kiwanis/Skinner Butte Park with more speakers, performers, and activities.
