State Chair Jim Edmunson opened this year's Oregon Summit, encouraging attendees to participate and enjoy.  DNC Executive Director Tom McMahon followed with encouraging words for the future strength and growth of the Democratic Party.  Treasurer Randall Edwards preached the benefits of true bi-partisanship.  Labor Commissioner Dan Gardner spoke of his vision of Oregon's future. 

Governor Ted Kulongoski closed out the evening with a broad-ranging forty minute address in which he said, "Our best days are still ahead, and those best days belong to all of us. Let the Republicans worry about the richest Americans; we Democrats will take care of everyone else."
