RULES FOR 2007 ELECTION
LANE COUNTY VICE-CHAIR
Democratic Party of Lane County
Central Committee (DPLCCC)
October 18, 2007
Upon arrival at the Central Committee Meeting all Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs) will sign in. Only PCPs listed on the Democratic Party PCP list from Lane County Elections will receive ballots for the Lane County Chair Positions (consistent with ORS 248.031 and DPLC Article V, B 5).
Any PCP arriving after 6:30 PM shall NOT be credentialed.
Election of DPLC chair will be an agenda item.
- Nominees for Vice Chair (from the September 20, 2007 CC meeting) will each have three (3) minutes to speak, with ten (10) minutes each for questions from the floor. After all have spoken, ballots for that office will be distributed and cast.
- A majority (50% plus 1) is necessary to elect, if there are more than two (2) people on the ballot and no person receives a majority, the person receiving the lowest number of votes shall be dropped from the ballot and a new ballot cast.
- Voting will be by secret ballot. The ballots will be counted by at least three (3) persons appointed by the presiding officer. Candidates may each have one (1) representative witness the ballot counting.
