These libertarians have quietly given more than a hundred million dollars to right-wing causes. Mayer tells of how the Tea Party ("a grassroots citizens' movement brought to you by a bunch of oil billionaires.") evolved from their earlier hard line Libertarian views. She exposes Koch’s funding of organizations and groups with harmless sounding names that belie their purpose, such as, Americans For Prosperity (and its offshoot, Patients United Now), Institute for Justice, Institute for Humane Studies, and of their launch of the CATO Institute and the Mercatus Center . These "institutes" along with The Heritage Foundation (another conservative think tank founded by Joseph Coors, Paul Weyrich & Edwin Feulner) are often referenced on Fox News or other conservative media.
