Lane County Commissioner Pete Sorenson plans to announce his candidacy for re-election to the county board at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the county election office in downtown Eugene, campaign manager Kevin Cronin said Wednesday.
Sorenson, whose district covers south Eugene, plans to hold a rally and be the first person in line to file for office in the 2012 elections, on the first day that candidates can file, Cronin said.
Sorenson has been a commissioner since 1997 and served previously as a state senator.
