House Democrats Applaud Senate Action on Foreclosure

Immediate Action Needed to Address Housing Crisis and

Protect Middle Class Homeowners

SALEM- House Democratic leaders today applauded passage in the Oregon Senate of two bills to address the foreclosure crisis. The Senate approved two measures on overwhelming bipartisan votes, sending them to the House where Democrats hope to take immediate action. Efforts on the part of Democrats to pass a package of foreclosure legislation stalled in the House when House Republican leadership refused to even hold hearings on the bills.

Credit Enhancement Fund Expansion Helps Small Business

SALEM- A bill to help Oregon businesses get loans to feed growth and spur hiring passed the Oregon House of Representatives today on a 59 -0 vote. HB 4150, expanding the Credit Enhancement Fund, is a centerpiece of the House Democrats’ February jobs package aimed at improving access to capital and getting Oregonians back to work.

Two More Bills to Support Business and Job Growth Pass

SALEM – It has been a good week for jobs legislation in the Oregon House of Representatives as a series of bills designed to support business and facilitate job growth passed their first committees.

The Transportation and Economic Development Act of 2012 (HB 4028) and a bill expanding Oregon’s Credit Enhancement Fund (HB 4150) moved from the House Transportation and Economic Development Committee on Thursday, joining the Oregon Investment Act in a slate of proposals garnering bipartisan and business group support.
