Publicity
Ron Burley proposed a project to develop a Lane County Democratic membership category. This is to provide outreach to the 125,000 registered Democrats in Lane County and to involve them in the DPLC. A motion was made to create a Democratic membership category. The motion was seconded and carried. PCPs are officers in the Party, whether elected or appointed, and the card-carrying Democrats will provide a larger base of income for the Party. It allows a Democrat to become involved and active without becoming a PCP. They will receive a newsletter and announcements of events and activities so they can be as active and informed as they choose to be. A complete description of this proposal was handed out. Sign up for cards are available. Be sure to obtain occupation and employer information for the Treasurer.
Ron encouraged everyone to look at the new DPLC.org website. Writers and editors are needed to provide content and keep it accurate. Volunteers are needed to build a Publicity Committee. Laura G. will be maintaining the HD area, which is accessible to the PCPs only.
