DPLC Food Drive is Looking for
Volunteers and Food Donations

July 28 DAY OF ACTION

As part of the July 28th National Democratic Reunion Day, the Democratic Party of Lane County will join with other Oregon Democrats to participate in "Get Out the Food" drives. All food and funds generated by our local effort will benefit FOOD for Lane County.

This is a chance for us to walk our talk. Since food banks often see a drop in donations during the summer months, your participation in this drive can help make a difference in combating hunger locally. Food donations we receive will go to Food for Lane County.

In order to meet our food goal of 1,200 pounds for this canvass, we are going to phone bank a week to ten days ahead to get commitments from people and then spend a few hours the day of the canvass picking up food.

Ice Cream Social to Follow Canvass

We will then all meet for an ice cream social at Peterson Park at 1 p.m. where we will then combine the food donations and then get them to FOOD for Lane County.
There are several ways you can participate

Donate two hours of your time for:

• Phone banking
• Food pick-up
• Data entry
• Event set-up
• Food delivery

Of course, if you would like to donate food for the drive itself, we’ll be more than happy to accept it.
