5th ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENT

Cajun/Chili Cookoff to be Held at
Eugene’s Alton Baker Park in August

Three times might just be the charm for Cj Mann and her prize-winning Cajun/Chili Cookoff team. Challengers will need to find new and creative ways to come up with bonus “Flavor” and “Favor” points to dethrone the 3-time Cookoff champs.

This year’s fundraising event will be held on Sunday, August 26 from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Alton Baker Park in Eugene.

Each House District or Caucus should plan to sponsor a team of up to three people and prepare enough food to feed 20-25 people.

Each group should work with their district officials to find sponsors to help cover the costs of ingredients and other expenses.

All House Districts and Caucuses should encourage their PCPs, family and friends to attend and/or to contribute at the Cookoff, mostly through “bribing” of the judges and sampling the great food!

The judging is done by elected public officials, who for this one day of the year are allowed to accept bribes legally!

During the Cookoff, teams are judged on both “Flavor” and “Favor”.

“Favor” is defined as the amount of money each team earns on behalf of the Party, House District, or Caucus.

Last year, the top four teams received gift baskets. One team’s food entry also receives the “People’s Choice Award,” based on “Flavor” and presentation.

Great food, music, fun, and fundraising... that’s what this event is all about! Put the date on your calendar and plan on getting involved in some capacity.
