5th ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENT
Cajun/Chili Cook-off Brings Local Democrats and Legislators Together
The annual DPLC Cajun/Chili Cook-off fundraiser was held on Sunday, August 26th at Alton Baker Park in Eugene.Over a hundred showed up to enjoy the company of fellow Democrats and Legislators. Chili of all temperatures and
types was available for sampling.
This year's prize for the best Chili went to the LGBTQ Caucus (The Habaneros). Second place went to HD11's Bill & Phil's Beans & Bribery Bistro. Betsy Steffenson of the Peace Caucus served up Impeachment Pies and came in a strong third. Fourth place went to HD14 for their famous pulled-pork sandwiches.
Among those attending the festivities was Steve Novick, who is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Gordon Smith. Other government officials in attendance included Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy, Pete Sorenson, Vickie Walker, Phil Barnhart, Paul Holvey, Terry Beyer, Chris Edwards, and Nancy Nathanson.
